Paper Plate Purse

A girl can never have too many purses. I like this simple way to make a purse because it can be personalized and customized to match any dress-up dress or any mood. When a purse is this inexpensive to create, you can spend your money on the frills. Mom will want one to match!

What You’ll Need

2 sturdy paper plates
scissors
glue, tape or stapler
paints and paintbrushes
yarn, ribbon or lace
colored paper
scrap fabric
buttons, sequins, fringes or any decorative items for embellishment

Instructions

1. Cut one paper plate in half. Attach half a paper plate to the lower half of the other paper plate, top sides together. This will form a pocket on the paper plate. Fold the top of the paper plate down to close the purse.

2. Paint the purse in the desired color and let dry completely. You may also like to glue on some fabric.

3. When the purse is dry, make a handle by tying a piece of ribbon, lace or yarn on both sides of the purse. You could also glue on velcro type closures for a 'real purse' feel.

4. Decorate the purse with buttons, colored paper cut into various shapes, scrap fabric, sequins, feathers, fringes and other decorative materials.
