Patriotic Flag Craft - Hand Print Art

Once you get this craft perfected, your little one will want to paint flags for all kinds of occasions! Their cute little hand is the perfect way to connect their pride in their craft to their love of country. Get ready with flags for 4th of July, President's Day, Memorial Day, Flag Day, or any day that you want to celebrate our country's tradition of democracy and liberty.

What You’ll Need

Red, White, and Blue paint
Brown Paint
Paint brush for each color
wooden toothpicks to paint stars on paper
Paper
*Optional: Baby wipes for easy clean up.*

Instructions

1. Have your child hold their left hand up with their fingers together, thumb out.
2. Paint your child’s thumb brown for the flag pole.
3. Paint a small square on the palm (above the flag pole thumb, at the top of the hand, closest to the wrist) blue.
4. Paint the pinky and middle finger red and the ring and pointer finger white.
5. Make a hand print on the paper.
6. You should have an USA flag.
7. Paint tiny dots of white(toothpicks work well)on the blue part for stars.
*Use baby wipes to help for quick clean up.
