> Halloween Activities Personalized Pumpkin FaceIf your child can make a scary face, you won't need to go any further to create a spooky, one of a kind Jack-o'-Lantern. Your kids will get a real kick out of seeing their very own faces saying "BOO!" to all the little Trick-or-Treaters. Make one for each member of the family and you all can be on the porch to greet the neighborhood on Halloween Night! What You’ll Needsmall pumpkins and/or gourdspicture of child making a scary face, printed out, or copied, on plain paper decoupage compound paint brush scissors optional: yarn for hair Instructions1. Wipe pumpkins and gourds with damp cloth and dry thoroughly.2. Take a picture of your child making a scary face. Have fun with this and make several tries until you get the greatest scary face you can. 3. Print picture on plain paper or copy photo on copier using plain paper. (Actual photo paper is too thick.) 4. Trim picture in shape that will fit pumpkin or gourd. Cut as closely to the face and hair as possible. 5. Paint back of picture with a little decoupage compound and stick to pumpkin or gourd. Try to find the smoothest area on the pumpkin. 6. Paint several thin layers of decoupage compound right over the top of the picture and around pumpkin or gourd, allowing to dry between coats. Two coats should be enough. 7. OPTIONAL: You may want to take pieces of yarn the color of your child's hair, cut and glue it to the "head" to add "hair". 8. OPTIONAL: Make one pumpkin for each member of the family and arrange everyone outside to greet the Trick-or-Treaters. |
