> Christmas Activities Picture Frame OrnamentsYou'll be proud to hang these pretty and personalized Christmas ornaments! What You’ll Need2 identical banglespencil cardboard or cereal box scissors photo glue ribbons, beads, small artificial flowers and other trimmings ribbon, yarn or pipe cleaner InstructionsIn this activity we are going to use a pair of bangles and a photo to make a photo ornament for your Christmas tree! You can find various sizes of bangles and make several of these ornaments, giving them to grandparents or Aunts & Uncles for their tree as well.*Tip: Write the name of the person who is on the photo on the back, as well as the year it was taken. Years down the road it will be nice to remember when it was taken of them! 1. Trace a bangle on the cardboard or cereal box. Cut out the shape. Trim the edges of the shape so that it is slightly smaller than the bangle but still larger than the center hole of the bangle. You want the shape to be able to be held in between the bangles but not outside of it. 2. Trace the cut-out cardboard on the photo. Cut the photo in the same shape and size as the cardboard. Glue photo to cardboard. 3. Sandwich the mounted photo between the 2 bangles. Secure with glue. 4. Embellish the ornament by gluing a ribbon, beads, small artificial flowers and other trimmings on top of the ornament. *You can also add ribbon or material to the bangles before you put the photo in between them. Wrapping the bangles will add to the decoration and you can finish the decorating after you glue the photo down. 5. Cut out a piece of ribbon, yarn or pipe cleaner at least 6 inches long. Glue or tape to the back of the ornament and use it to hang the ornament to the tree. These can be done in less than an hour. This is a good way to keep a school picture of your child since you can do a new one every year and hang it on your Christmas tree. When a few years have passed and you have a handful of photo ornaments, they can be strung together to make a mini garland! This would be a fun thing to have when it’s time for your child to leave the house when they get older. |
