> Valentine's Day Activities Picture In a Valentine FrameKids like to give gifts to people in their lives, especially on Valentine's Day. It makes them feel special to give the people they care about a nice gift. The best gift they can give to a parent or grandparent is their own picture. Why not let them decorate the frame themselves to add that special touch? What You’ll Need* Plain white, pink or red picture frame (or unpainted)* Child’s picture * Paint (various colors) * Paintbrush * Valentine Stickers * Small stencil * Glitter glue InstructionsBe sure the frames are plain. The color doesn’t really matter as long as you have bright paint for the children to use. Clean and dry the frame well and remove the glass before they begin. They can use the stencils to color hearts and flowers on the frame. Boys don’t generally like flowers so have some stencils that include arrows and maybe even a small cupid for them to color. Whatever colors of paint they want to use is fine. The livelier the picture frame the better. Glitter glue can also be a nice added touch to a picture frame. Even stickers can be applied to make the frame stand out. Make sure they leave the bottom free of any decoration. Once the rest of the frame dries your child can add its own special message to the bottom of the frame. It might say "I Love You" or "Grandma, You're The Best". Have them use the stencil and color their saying right on the bottom of the frame. After everything has dried completely let them put their picture in the frame. Show them how the glass goes in and how the back goes on. They need to know this so they can help change their picture as they grow. Having a new picture every Valentine’s Day adds to the special touch of the picture frame. |
