Pirates’ Treasure

Children are in awe of Pirates and get excited over looking for buried treasure. This fun little game gives them a chance to experience the fun of being a pirate on the hunt for that treasure.

How to Play

Start by filling small buckets with sand. You will need half as many buckets as you have children. Place small prizes, candy or anything you would like the children to find deep in the sand.

Next you will need as many boxes as you have buckets. The boxes need to be larger than the buckets. Decorate the boxes to look like treasure chests.

Place sand in the bottom of the boxes. Be sure it is enough to hold and stabilize the buckets when placed in the box. You can fill the box as full as you would like with the sand but don’t cover the buckets.

Divide your children in too teams of two each. Each player needs a plastic spoon to dig in the sand for the treasures. Place a child on each side of the treasure chest.

When you say go children start digging through the sand to see what is buried in their treasure chest. What ever they find is theirs to keep. Play is finished when all the treasurers have been discovered
