Place the Felt Hat on Frosty

Everyone has heard the story of Frosty the Snowman. Remember how he came to life after they placed the felt hat on his head? Kids love that story and dream of having a snowman come to life. With this game a little bit of their dream can come true. No Frosty won’t really come to life but the kids can have a great time trying to put the felt hat on Frosty’s head just to see if it works.

How to Play

To play this game you will need a cut out of Frosty the Snowman. Use a large piece of white poster board to cut out the figure. Then have the children give Frosty a button nose and two eyes made out of coal. They can also place a scarf around Frosty’s neck and even make a broom out of poster board and construction paper to place in his hand. However you and your children want to decorate Frosty is great just remember not to give him his felt hat. Well not just yet anyway.

To make the hat take a piece of felt and starting at the top cut a rectangular shape. The sides of this rectangle should be slightly longer than the top. Once you have the top of the hat cut the felt in a circle shape at the bottom of hat to make the brim. Know you have a felt hat to place on Frosty’s head.

Playing the game is a lot like Pin the Tail on the Donkey except when the child is blind folded you give them the felt hat and tell them to place it on Frosty’s head. The laughs will be abundant when the children see just where Frosty’s head might be.

This game has many variations such as Pin the Nose on Rudolph, place Santa’s hat on his head and even give the package a bow. Anyway you play the children are certain to have a great time.
