Arbor Day is a holiday about saving our trees. This Arbor day have your kids plant a tree. This is an activity that is good for the environment and fun.

First, your children will need to pick out a tree. Go to your local greenhouse. Have your kids pick out the tree they want to plant in your yard. Make sure to choose one that is right for your soil and climate. Fruit trees are fun, because eventually your children will be able to eat the fruit they helped grow. You may also wish to purchase any fertilizers they might need for their tree.

After your kids choose the tree, they will need to plant it. Give your children the shovel and other tools they will need. Then, let them dig up the earth, plant the tree, and fill in the whole. Show them how much fertilizer to use and how much to water their new tree.

Now, everyday your kids can look out the window at the tree they planted. Your kids will enjoy knowing they did something good for their environment. They can watch their tree grow and be proud of all their hard work.
