Plastic Bottle Potpourri Holder

Even a plastic bottle can become pretty and smell fabulous!

What You’ll Need

plastic bottle
scissors or craft knife
scrap fabric or patterned paper or construction paper
glue
potpourri
netting, gauze, lace, muslin or other thin material
elastic
ribbon

Instructions

1. Cut the bottom off the plastic bottle, creating a shallow container.

2. If desired, cover the plastic container with a piece of scrap fabric, patterned paper, or construction paper. Glue into place.

3. Cut the netting, gauze, lace, muslin or other thin fabric into a square. Place the potpourri in the center of the fabric. Gather the edges of the fabric together and secure with an elastic. Cover the elastic by tying a ribbon around it.

4. Place the potpourri inside the shallow container and display!

Most plastic bottles have bottoms that have segments to them - you can fill each segment with a little potpourri bag! If you are using a bottle with a flat bottom then just one larger bag is needed. It may be important to figure out how your bottle will be decorated depending on the shape of the bottom.
