Playing in the Water Hose

It’s a hot day and your children are hot, sticky and looking for something to do. You can set up your water hose in the backyard and let your children cool off for the day. Here are some ideas for a fun filled, cool down afternoon.

How to Play

Place your hose in an area that is open with no obstacles that can get in the way. The best water sprinkler to use is the long sprinkler that rotates. This way the water reaches your children no matter which side they stand on. This also helps to keep the water from coming down on them constantly.

There are many different games your children can play. This will help alleviate any boredom after a few minutes in the water.

One game is musical water. Let the kids run back and forth around the sprinkler while playing music. Stop the music and whoever is getting wet is out.

Another game is ring toss. They can toss a ring back and forth over the water. Whoever misses the ring when it’s tossed to them is out of the game.

Leap frog is another fun game to play in the water. The possibilities for games are endless when you use your imagination.
