As young girls we all wanted to dress up as the fairy princess. Your daughter will too. Making a princess costume can be fun for both you and your daughter. Spend the day dressing up your little princess for a Halloween or birthday party that both of you will remember and cherish forever.

What You’ll Need

* Frilly white or pink dress
* White shirt
* White leotards
* White shoes or slippers
* Glitter
* Satin bows
* Colored lace
* Colored ribbon
* Gold and silver bows
* Sheer fabric
* Star wire
* Glue
* Broach and jewelry

Instructions

Start your princess out with a frilly white or pink dress. Most little girls have one of these in their closet. Be sure they have a white shirt to wear under their dress for warmth. White leotards will help keep their legs warm also. If her shirt has long sleeves fancy them up with glitter or lace attached with glue.

Try to find a plain white pair of shoes for her to wear. If you don’t have white shoes try to find a cheap pair of white slippers. You can decorate her shoes with glitter and satin bows to set them off and help them to match her dress.

Accessorize your princess with glistening jewelry. A diamond or ruby necklace, earrings and bracelets will set off your little princess. If your child has chosen a specific princess then accessorize with things that match that princess.

Make your princess cape out of white sheer fabric. Use gold and silver ribbon and colored lace to decorate her cape. Attach it in the front with a pretty broach or with large gold buttons and gold elastic sewn together to make loops.

Don’t forget her tiara. The best way to make a tiara is to use star wire. Pick a color that will set out with your child hair color. Measure the wire around your child’s head. Then cut the wire and form it into a circle. Wrap colored ribbon with glitter around the base of the wire. Place the tiara on her head.

You now have the prettiest princess in town. She will feel special and so will you when you see the smile on her face and the sparkle in her eye. Have a great time.
