> Valentine's Day Activities Prim ValentineOld fashioned Valentine's Day cards were often very ornate, complete with lace and ribbon threaded through the card forming a pretty bow at the top. Your little ones can duplicate this type of prim and pretty Valentine's Day card with a little creativity and a lot of LOVE! What You’ll NeedConstruction paper (pink and red are traditional, purple is nice too)Pencil Scissors Hole punch Red or pink ribbon or yarn (about ¼” works best) Markers Optional: stickers, glitter, lace, or other embellishments. Instructions1. Use a pencil to trace a large heart on construction paper. Cut out the heart. You can use fancy scalloped scissors (like the ones used for scrapbooking) to make the heart look a little lacey.2. Make a series of holes around the edge of the heart using a hole punch. The number of holes isn’t important, but be sure to make it an even number, with two holes close to the top for typing the bow. 3. String the ribbon or yarn through the holes starting at the bottom of the heart working your way up evenly on both sides of the heart. Tie the end pieces (which meet at the top of the heart) into a bow. 4. Have your child write a message on the back of the heart and decorate it and write the To: and From: on the back. This card makes a great Valentine for Grandma! |
