Princess' Paper Plate Crown

Gather up your sparkles, glitter, gold, and shiny silver! Time to crown your little Princess!

What You’ll Need

paper plate
craft knife or scissors
aluminum foil or silver or gold paint and paintbrush
plastic jewels or sequins
white glue
glitter glue

Instructions

1. Cut criss-cross lines in the center of the paper plate up to about 1 inch from the edge of the paper plate. The lines will look as if you're cutting pie into 8 slices. Do not cut all the way to the edge of the paper plate!

2. Fold up the triangles that you made when cutting the paper plate. Paint the crown silver or gold and let dry completely. Or, wrap the crown with aluminum foil.

3. Add plastic jewels or sequins all over the crown. Or put dabs of glitter glue. When they dry, they will look like sparkling gems.

A fun change in this project would be to cut wavy or squiggly lines. The crown will then have waves rather then straight lines! The wavy triangles may be harder to cover with aluminum foil so think of different ways to decorate. Crafters often have several supplies available to them so see what you have lying around your home that could be used. Decorate a crown with beads and buttons for a sewing or craft queen, or with feathers and glitter for a fairy queen. The possibilities are endless, or as endless as your crafty supply!
