Put a Face on the Pumpkin

Remember the ever popular 'Pin the Tail on the Donkey' game you used to play as a child? This is a Halloween version of that same game. Play it at your child’s next Halloween Party and you’re sure to see their little pumpkin faces light up with delight.

How to Play

Start by making pumpkin heads out of heavy orange construction paper. Cut out the pumpkin shape with a stem at the top. Be sure to color the stem green for the pumpkin effect.

Next take black construction paper and cut out different shapes of eyes, noses and mouths. Attach sticky tape to the back of each shape. When your children attach the eyes, nose and mouth they will stick wherever they put them.

Tape your pumpkins on the wall or a tabletop where they are flat and easy for the children to reach. Remember the different ages and sizes of children who will be playing to make it easy for them to reach blindfolded.

When its time to play let the child pick out the eye shapes, nose shape and mouth shape they want to use. Then blindfold the child. Hand them each shape one at a time and allow the to place it on the pumpkin or wherever their little hand might land.

When they have place all the shapes on the pumpkin take their blindfold off. What a laugh they will have when they see just how they decorated their pumpkin face. Whoever is the closest with their shapes to decorating an actual pumpkin face is the winner.

What a fun way for children of all ages to enjoy a game at your next Halloween Party.
