> Summer Ideas Activities Rainbow Paper Plate MobileThis hanging rainbow is sure to cheer anybody up! What You’ll Needlarge paper platescissors markers or paints and paintbrushes colored paper or crepe paper scissors glue or tape paper punch yarn or ribbon Instructions1. Cut the paper plate in half. Following the arch of the paper plate, draw or paint a rainbow on it. Remember that the colors of the rainbow spell ROYGBV: red, orange, yellow, green, blue and violet.2. Cut strips of colored paper to match the colors of the rainbow. Make 2 strips for each color. The width should be the same as the width of that color on the plate. Make the strips as long as desired. 3. Tape each colored strip to the corresponding end of the rainbow at the straight edge of the paper plate. TIP: You can also glue whatever you are attaching to the paper plate, just be sure it is dry before hanging so no glue gets on the wall or window. 4. Punch a hole on the top center of the rainbow. Tie a piece of yarn or ribbon around the hole to make a hanger. This hanging rainbow project would be cute in a window! Be sure to use crepe paper if you want it in a window so the sun can highlight the colors. You could also use colored ribbon instead of crepe or colored paper. |
