Read the Story of the Original Santa Claus

Parents debate whether to tell their kids that there is no Santa Claus or to continue the story there parents told them of Santa Claus being a jolly old man with a fluffy white beard and hair, who wears a read suit and delivers toys to all the good boys and girls on Christmas Eve, via his sleigh and reindeer. Why not take time to talk to your kids about the real St. Nicholas?

He is the man that the myth of Santa Claus as we know him today is based on.

St. Nicholas was a man of God and was born to wealthy parents. He used that wealth to improve the lives of children and the poor in the area in which he lived, which is now modern-day Turkey.

St. Nicholas was deemed a saint after suffering persecution for his faith at the hands of the Roman Empire. He indeed was very generous to children, but his was exaggerated after he died. This exaggeration led to the story of the modern day Santa Claus.

There is an actual St. Nicholas Day on December 6th that is still celebrated in many areas today.
