Give your preschool child a head start for school.

This standard game is perfect for any child who is fascinated by transportation (cars, trains, planes, boats).

One child is "it". This child stands in front of the other children, several yards away.

The goal for the children is to be the first one to reach "it".

The game can be played in many different way.

Basically, when the child says "Red Light" all the other players must freeze. When the child says "Green Light" the other players may move forward, closer to "it".

Options:
The child who is "it" can hold a sign with one side red and one side green, and flash it as he or she yells.
The child can close his or her eyes when the light is green and open them when the light changes to red.
Or the child can turn her back when the light is green and face the others when it is red.

The child who is "it" can send the other children to the beginning if she sees them moving after she has said "Red Light".
