Rock Paperweight

Everybody has a desk or area where all the mail, papers and other items seem to go. Usually it is in a high traffic area where papers like to go flying. Why not let your child make that rock paperweight? It will come in very handy. Here’s how it is done

What You’ll Need

* Good size rock that is flat on one side
* Felt
* Glue
* Paint
* Paint brush

Instructions

Make sure the rock is clean and dry. Now let your child decorate the rock. They can paint anything they want on the paperweight, but if they are giving it to someone they might want to use colors and designs geared to that person. Also, be sure they don’t paint the flat side of the rock. This is where the felt will be placed.

After the paint dries you can attach the felt. Take the rock and place it on the felt. Trace around the rock to get the correct size for the felt. You may need to trim the felt slightly so it doesn’t come up the sides of the rock. Place glue on the flat side of the rock then attach the felt. Once the glue has dried your child’s paperweight will be complete
