Save-a-Tree Scratch PadThis little tree note pad is not only handy, but it's a reminder that if we all think about reusing something one more time, we could be saving our forests. Start setting your paper aside, and when your little one is ready to make this note pad you'll be ready to help. Now doesn't that feel good to do something nice for your planet? What You’ll Needscrap paper that's used on one side only (if your Mom or Dad work in an office there's usually a box with paper for recycling)cardboard or cereal box pencil scissors paper punch paper clip markers Instructions1. Collect scrap paper that's been used on one side only. You should have at least 20 sheets.2. On a piece of cardboard or the back of a cereal box, draw a pine tree shape. Make sure it is big enough to write notes on. Cut out the shape you drew. 3. Using the cardboard shape that you made, draw the shape on the scrap paper and cut the scrap paper in the same shape. You can stack 5 sheets of paper up and cut them at the same time to make the process faster. Make sure you have at least 20 sheets of paper cut out. 4. Punch a hole on each sheet of paper and the cardboard piece. Make sure you make the hole in the same place every time. Stack the sheets of paper on top of the cardboard. Slide a paper clip through all the sheets to keep them together. 5. Hang the scratch pad beside your phone or desk. Now you're reusing a piece of paper that might have gone to the trash. Good for you! |
