> Halloween Activities Be a ScarecrowIt is so much fun dressing your child as a scarecrow for Halloween. Your child will have a lot of fun being that scarecrow as well. It’s easy and pretty inexpensive too. What You’ll Need* Lightweight long sleeve t-shirt* Thermal underwear pants * Faded blue jeans * Flannel shirt * Straw hat * Fabric for patches * Rope * Straw * Black eyeliner * Red face paint * Fake Black bird * Wire InstructionsStart by taking the fabric and making different shape and sizes of patches. Place the patches strategically on the jeans. Be sure the jeans are a little long so you can cuff them.Be sure your child has on a light shirt and thermal underwear pants under the jeans and flannel shirt to keep the straw from itching them. Once you have your child dressed in the jeans and flannel shirt use the rope for a belt. Next stuff the flannel shirt and jeans with straw. Be sure some of the straw is sticking out the neck, arms and legs of the clothes for effect. Take the black eyeliner and draw stitches around your child’s mouth. Next, take the red face paint and make their nose into a triangle shape. Now take the straw hat and scrunch it some so it looks worn and old. Place some of the straw in your child’s hair and up under the hat. Be sure the straw under the hat sticks out a little. For the finishing touch attach the fake black bird (crow) onto your child’s shoulder or hat. We all know that scarecrows are supposed to scare off those unwanted crows but have you ever seen a crow shy away from a scarecrow? Your child’s won’t either once you have it secured with that wire. Now you have your own little scarecrow and what fun you both had while making it. Go and enjoy your Halloween night and remember to watch out for those crows! |
