> Earth Day Activities School Bus Picture FrameDisplay this picture frame as a clever reminder that by taking a bus more often we help conserve fuel. You could also decorate this craft to resemble the public bus in your city. What You’ll Needegg carton, the kind with holes on topyellow and black paint paintbrushes cereal box tape or glue pencil photos or pictures from old magazines scissors yarn, ribbon or string Instructions1. Paint the egg carton yellow. Let it dry completely. Add black stripes to make it look more real.2. Cut a strip from the cereal box so that it is as long as the inside of the egg carton and slightly wider than the holes on top. Glue or tape the strip to the inside of the egg carton, so that the strip is visible when you close the lid. 3. Close the lid of the egg carton. Trace the holes on top onto the cardboard strip below. 4. Cut family photos or pictures from old magazines so that they fit in the shapes that you traced on the cardboard strip. Glue the photos/pictures to the cardboard strip. When you close the egg carton, it will look like the people in the pictures are riding the bus. 5. Close the egg carton. Cut wheels out of the cereal box. Glue to the front of the egg carton. 6. Cut about 12 inches of yarn, ribbon or string. String it on both sides of the egg carton so you can hang it up. This is also a good school picture project! Rather then using family members, use pictures of your childrens friends. Your children may not want the pictures cut so instead glue them onto the cardboard strip so their faces can be seen. Once the project is completed your child can hang it in their room! |
