Sing Christmas Carols

What better tradition to start than singing Christmas carols on Christmas Eve. You don’t have to go around town to sing these songs either. Do it right in your home with the people you love.

Start the tradition with hot chocolate or warm apple cider. If you have a fireplace have everyone gather around where it’s warm and cozy. Be sure to include everyone in the family.

Have everyone start a Christmas Carol. It may be one you all know or it might be one that your child has learned in school this year. Either way it is better to let each person, especially the children, feel they are bringing something unique to the fun.

Encourage everyone to sing. No one cares if it’s off key or someone messes up a word. The joy of this tradition is that everyone is together, warm and cozy and having fun.

Be sure to add a few of those carols that give a little spice to night. Many children learn to act out Frosty the Snowman or Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer in school. Let them continue at home. There’s nothing more fun than listening to a child change a few words or use their arms and hands to make a song more festive.

Get up and dance while you sing. Keep that blood moving and enjoy yourselves. Grab a young child and swirl them around the room. Get people up and have a good time together. That’s what it’s all about anyway.

Singing Christmas carols on Christmas Eve with all your family can bring lots of fun tradition to your Christmas celebration. It’s what memories are made of. Of course if you feel up to it you can always walk around the neighborhood singing your carols as well. The neighbors will enjoy it and might even join you.
