Spring-y Primary Colors

Simple to make, this is a great way to introduce children to primary colors -- or keep an infant entertained.

What You’ll Need

3 paper plates
Poster paint
Pencil
Scissors
String
Clothes hanger

Instructions

1. Paint each paper plate a primary color: red, yellow and blue. If you don't have paper plates, cut large circles out of cardboard or even empty cereal boxes.

2. Draw a circular line underneath the paper plate, from the center moving outwards in a spiral.

3. Cut along the line you drew.

4. Punch a hole in the center of the spiral with the pencil.

5. Tie the string through the hole, making a large knot underneath to keep the string from going all the way through.

6. Tie the spirals onto a clothes hanger and display your mobile!
