> Beach & Ocean Activities Styrofoam Ball OctopusIsn't there just something about kids and octopi? I never met a kid that didn't love them! I know I did, when I was a munchkin, myself. With this activity, your kids can make their very own octopus - in whatever color they would like! Cool! Octopus PartsStyrofoam ballPipe cleaners Tape Paints Paintbrush Wiggly eyes Markers Ribbon, lace, scrap fabric Create your creature now!1. Paint the Styrofoam ball in the desired color. Let the ball dry completely.2. Cut the pipe cleaners into 8 pieces in the desired length. These will be the octopus' tentacles. Push the ends of the pipe cleaners into the bottom of the Styrofoam ball. You might have to secure them with some tape. 3. Glue wiggly eyes on your octopus - there are many different sizes of wiggly eyes that you can get. You could have some fun with this and put two big eyes and two small eyes if you wanted. 4. Draw other features on your octopus using markers or even paint pens. Paint pens are a lot of fun! 5. Now you can add a bow out of ribbon, lace or yarn, or you can add a collar or bow tie from scrap fabric. 6. Enjoy having your very own octopus! Don't forget to introduce him to all your friends! |
