Take a Trip to the Zoo

Children love to go to the zoo. It allows them to see wild animals from all over the world in real life. Some zoos allow your child to feed or even pet some of the more tame animals. It is one thing to watch a lion on television or read about them in a book, it is another to see the real thing.

There are zoos located all over the United States. You may wish to try a safari experience where you drive through the different exhibits. Some zoos allow your children to feed animals such as horses, cattle, sheep, and even the giraffes. Check out different zoos on the internet to find one near you with the kinds of exhibits your family would be the most interested in.

Once you have picked the zoo for your family, it is time to prepare for your trip. Most have both picnic areas and snack shops. You will need to decide whether to pack your family a lunch or buy something when you get there. Most zoos also have souvenir shops so you may wish to bring some extra spending money for your children.

Now you need to figure out which path to take. Look at your zoo map and find the exhibits your family would enjoy the most. My children always love to see the lions and tigers. Another favorite is the elephants. Most zoos also have zebras, kangaroos, crocodiles, monkeys, large snakes, camels, rhinos, and much more. Some have exhibits of nocturnal animals like bats and sloths. Take your time and visit them all.

Your children will have a whole new outlook on animals once they have seen them up close and personal. They will learn tons of new and interesting facts about animals. This will be an outing your family can enjoy again and again and see something different every time.
