> Thanksgiving Activities Thanksgiving Place CardsMany of us have our entire family over for Thanksgiving dinner. Often times we aren’t sure who will be sitting where at the table. There is an easy solution to this problem. Let your children make place cards. They are so easy to do and your kids will get a kick out their creations once they are done and on the table. What You’ll Need* Construction paper* Pencil * Cutouts of Thanksgiving pictures * Scissors * Crayons and colored pencils * Fine tip black marker InstructionsStart by giving your children a list of the people who will be at dinner. Remember to include yourself and your immediate family. We don’t want to leave anyone out.Have your children trace around Thanksgiving pictures. Be sure to use things like turkeys, pilgrims, pumpkins and so on. Even leaves will work. Anything that is associated with fall and Thanksgiving. After they have traced the picture they can cut them out. Let your children be imaginative. They can decorate their picture with crayons, colored pencils or anything they can think of to make their picture look the way they see it in their own mind. Next have your child place one guest’s name in each of their creations with a fine tip black marker. To be sure they don’t forget anyone, write a list including everyone’s names that will be in attendance. They can mark the name off of the list once a place card has been made for that person. Last but not least let your children lay the place cards on the table where each person will sit. They may need some help deciding who will be placed where because sometimes sitting Aunt Gertrude next to Cousin Milton might not be the best idea and could make your Thanksgiving dinner a feast to remember always. |
