> Thanksgiving Activities Tablecloth of ThanksMy children and I volunteered to help our church feed the homeless last year, the Wednesday before Thanksgiving. A week earlier, the church had all the children prepare tablecloths for the tables. They were given colored markers and asked to write down what they were thankful for, their first names, and ages. They also wrote down words of encouragement for the homeless people and drew Thanksgiving pictures. It was beautiful and heartfelt and thoroughly enjoyed by all. This year, we are having Thanksgiving at my mother's house. There are six grandchildren from the ages of four to nine and we have a kids table for them to sit at. I am going to bring a paper tablecloth (or two!) and plenty of markers. While the adults and older grandchildren are sitting around chatting before lunch, I am going to have the younger ones create a tablecloth of thanks for their grandmother! Hopefully, there won't be any spills this year! What You’ll Need* Paper Tablecloth* Crayola markers (preferable washable!) * Thanksgiving stencils and stamps and stickers InstructionsGive each child a section of the tablecloth and have them write and draw away! |
