Thanksgiving Trivia

Thanksgiving can be a joyous yet frustrating time not only for Mom but for children too. The anticipation of the day wears on small children especially. When the day comes too often it doesn’t live up to their expectation and they become bored and just plain miserable. Playing games after dinner can help your child enjoy their day as much as everyone else. Thanksgiving Trivia is a game that can be played by adults and children alike.

How to Play

Use index cards to make your trivia cards. On the front of the index card write a question that pertains to Thanksgiving. On the back of the card write down four possible answers with only one answer being the correct.

For instance your question could be what meat is generally eaten on Thanksgiving? The answers could be chicken, alligator, frog or turkey. Now this is a pretty simple question with strange answers but that’s how you want the game to be. Remember you have small children who are playing plus the silliness of the answers keeps everyone in a happy mood. You will also want to have some difficult questions to keep things a little tricky for the older ones.

Put everyone together and place the cards in the middle. Start with either the youngest or the oldest player and have them pick a card. They read the question and the possible answers. Start with the player to their left for the correct answer. If they answer correctly they receive a point. If they don’t answer correctly the next person gets a chance and so on. Decide before hand how many points you want to play to and the first person to reach that amount of points is the winner.

This game can be a lot of fun and it helps bring the family together in an enjoyable way. Plus it keeps the children from becoming too bored with the day.
