> Easter Day Activities The Easter Egg HuntWhat is Easter without a traditional Easter egg hunt? You will create memories that will last you and your children a lifetime. But remember, you can include your children in each phase. How to PlayFirst, start with the dying process. Allow them to show their creativity by choosing a dying kit. After you boil the eggs, allow them to dip the eggs into the dye themselves. It is okay to let them get a little messy. Just be prepared with aprons or old tee shirts, and don't forget the newspaper on their work surface. Some kits have glitter, crayons, stickers, and money, ect. This way they will be able to show off their artistic abilities. Refrigerate the eggs, after they are finished, until it is time for the Easter egg hunt. Some people prefer to use plastic eggs in place of, or along with the dyed eggs for the hunt. This gives you the opportunity to have hidden treasures. Allow your children to help you place the treasure of your choice inside. Some ideas include: candy, small toys, or stickers, money, etc. With my children I like to have one egg with a special treat inside called The Golden Egg. Whoever finds this egg receives a special treat that won't fit in the other eggs. Just be creative and you will do just fine. If you have older children, they may wish to help you hide the eggs instead of hunting them. Help by giving them ideas and tips for hiding places. Remind them not to hide the eggs out of reach. You want the eggs hidden, but not so that the children lose interest or get discouraged. And most important, JUST HAVE FUN! |
