Tie Dye Socks Craft

What You’ll Need

White cotton socks
Disposable pan
Warm Water
Fabric Dye (like Rit®)
Rubber bands
Gloves
Newspapers
Plastic spoons

(Please note fabric dye will stain so make sure you are wearing old clothing and everything you use can be throw away.)

How to make your decorated socks.

1) Cover the work area with newspaper or an old sheet to protect your table and floor.

2) Use the warm water pan and dissolve your fabric dye in the pan of water. (Follow the Fabric Dye directions you are using)

3) To make a matching pair of tie-dyed socks, place both socks together and wrap several rubber bands around them. Make sure the rubber bands are very tight.

4) Wearing your gloves, place the socks into the fabric dye.

5) Leave socks in the dye for one minute.
(If you want different colors, place different sections of the sock into the different colors.

6) Rinse the socks with cold water

7) Allow socks to dry

8) Remove rubber bands

9) Wash the socks separate or with dark clothing a couple of times until you are sure the dye will no longer run.

10) Enjoy wearing your new socks!
