> Summer Ideas Activities Toilet Paper Tube Pencil HolderKeep your pencils organized with these easy-to-make pencil holders! What You’ll Needtoilet paper cardboard tubescereal box colored paper scissors glue ribbons, yarn or pipe cleaners other decorative materials, such as stickers, beads, glitter glue, 3D markers Optional: old magazines, Christmas wrap, scrapbook paper Instructions1. Trace the bottom of the toilet paper tube on a cereal box. Cut out the circle and tape it onto the bottom of a toilet paper tube.2. Cover the sides of the toilet paper tube with colored paper. 3. Tie a pretty ribbon, yarn or pipe cleaner around the toilet paper tube. Decorate with stickers, beads, glitter glue, 3D markers or whatever else you have on hand. 4. Alternatively, cut or tear interesting pictures from old magazines and glue to the toilet paper tubes. 5. Fill with your pencils or pens to keep your desk organized! Rather than covering the tube with colored paper, you could get white paper or brown kraft paper (often this comes on rolls) and have your kids decorate it. They could paint or draw whatever they wanted, than you could cut it into the right size and cover the tube with that. To make this project bigger, take four, six or eight toilet paper tubes (depending on how large you want the final holder to be) and secure them to each other so you have four, six or eight spots for pencils, markers, pens, etc. They can be secured using glue; it will just take a few minutes to dry before you add another one on. This would be a great addition to a craft area for your children! Each tube could be for something different. |
