You can have your own Butterfly Garden! Make as many of these butterflies as you wish in a variety of colors, tie a string around the antennae and set them lose all over the house or garden. They are bound to make you smile. And if it's not Summer, it's even better! They are sure to brighten up a long Winter day too!

What You’ll Need

plastic bag or plastic wrap
scrap tissue paper, various colors
clear tape
pipe cleaner
glitter glue (optional)
markers (optional)
paints and paintbrushes (optional)

Instructions

1. Tear the scrap tissue papers into very small pieces. If you don't have tissue paper, you could also use any colored paper.

2. Fill the plastic bag with the torn pieces of paper (or lay torn paper evenly over half a piece of plastic wrap and fold over to cover and form 'bag'). Distribute the pieces evenly throughout the bag, and carefully tape bag or plastic wrap closed. Be sure the pieces are layed out evenly and it's not in a pile.

3. Carefully tie a pipe cleaner around the middle of the plastic bag, twisting at one end creating a butterfly with wings. Bend the ends of the pipe cleaner under a little so they look like antennae.

4. You may want to decorate the butterfly's wings with glitter glue, markers or paints and paintbrushes.
