Upset the Candy Dish

Remember playing musical chairs when you were a child? It was a lot of fun but how about a new twist on that great game. That’s what Upset the Candy Dish is and here’s how to play.

How to Play

Count the number of kids who will be playing the game. Next place chairs in a circle, leaving one less than the number of kids playing. Make sure the chairs are facing in towards the middle.

Have all the children but one set in the chairs. The one left will stand in the middle of the candy dish.

Once the children are seated, whisper in each child’s ear a type of Halloween candy. The child will then become that piece of candy in the candy dish. After all the children become a piece of candy in the candy dish the child in the middle will start to say different types of candy. When they match a piece of candy in the dish they exchange places. Don’t forget to give the child a name of a candy once they have set down. Play continues until each child has been in the middle of the circle.

Now here’s the fun part. At anytime during the game you can holler out “Upset the Candy Dish.” When you do all the children have to move to a new chair, including the one in the middle. Someone will be left without a chair to set in. They will be out of the game. Remember to move a chair each time you do this. The last person left sitting wins the game and all the candy in the candy dish.
