> Valentine's Day Activities Valentine’s Day Gift BasketsGiving gifts on Valentine’s Day is one way to show your children how much you love and appreciate them. Gift baskets can be easy to put together and you can make them reflect each child's own personal tastes, styles, and interests. Your children will enjoy the gifts but will also have fun looking for all the special treats you include in their basket. Here are some ideas on how to make your child’s basket special and unique. What You’ll Need* Baskets* Red and pink ribbon * Red and pink tissue paper * Gifts * Candy InstructionsStart by placing the tissue paper in the bottom and up the sides of the basket. Use red tissue paper for the boys and pink for the girls. Tie red and pink ribbons on the handle of the basket or, if the basket has slots, you can run the ribbon through them and tie a nice big bow on the front of the basket.Filling the basket can be fun too. Be sure to have different types of candy. That is always a favorite on Valentine’s Day. Give them the type of candy they really enjoy the most. It might be peanut butter filled hearts or maybe they enjoy the gift box candy with the different types of fillings. Always be sure to include some of those conversation hearts too. Kids really like those little sayings and can have a lot of fun with those types of candy. Now for the best part…the gifts. These should be things that will put a smile on your child’s face and fit their personality and interests. You can put books, coloring books and crayons, sticker books and even small games into their basket. If you would like to give them something even more special think about the one thing they really wanted for Christmas and didn’t receive. What a surprise that would be for them. If they are into a certain sport buy them something they need to play that sport. Maybe they are into music. If this is the case try giving those things that will help them develop their musical talent. Who says baskets are just for Easter? Giving a basket to your child for Valentine’s Day is one way to show them they mean the world to you and that you appreciate them each and everyday of the year. Don’t forget that special card that tells them exactly how you feel to top the basket off. |
