Valentine's Day Treat: Chocolate Covered Strawberries

Baking a delicious treat with your children is a great way to celebrate Valentine's Day. Kids love both baking and chocolate. One of my favorite things to make on Valentine's Day with my children is milk chocolate and white chocolate covered strawberries. This is a great way to spend time with your children and have them make something special for the family.

What You’ll Need

* Milk Chocolate
* White Chocolate
* Strawberries
* Wax Paper (or parchment paper)
* Colander

Directions

First, prepare the strawberries and work space. Take your strawberries and place them in a colander and rinse them thoroughly. Then, take a cookie sheet and cover it with a piece of parchment paper or wax paper so the chocolate won't stick to it while it cools.

Now, you and your kids are ready to melt the chocolate. Melt your white and milk chocolates in their own pots on the stove. If your child is old enough, you can let them stir the chocolate until it is fully melted. If your kids are not old enough let them stand on a chair and watch.

After the chocolate is done, then your children can dip their strawberries. Holding the strawberries by their tops, dip them three-quarters of the way into the chocolate. Then place them on the cookie sheet and let them cool.

Once the strawberries are cool, your family can enjoy a tasty Valentine's Day treat. Even better, your kids prepared it. It will taste so much better to your children knowing they made it themselves.
