Wizard Washcloth Puppet

What You’ll Need

toilet paper tube
markers
yarn
colored paper or construction paper
glue
tape
wash cloth in red or purple
star stickers

Instructions

1. Cut the toilet paper tube in half crosswise. Using markers, draw on the wizard's face.

2. Add hair and a wizard's hat using yarn and construction paper.

3. The wash cloth will be the wizard's cloak. Decorate it with star stickers or other desired designs, using materials you have at home.

4. Place the wash cloth over your hand. Tape the wash cloth snugly around your thumb and little finger. Push the middle fingers into the bottom of the toilet paper tube.

5. Use the same technique to create other characters for your wash cloth puppet show!

Decorate the washcloth with permanent materials so it will last. Be sure to let any paint or markers you use to decorate it dry before moving on to the next step! Stickers may fall off once the sticky wears off so you may want to use glue in that step.

Make several wizards using this technique but changing the yarn color and construction paper color so they will look different! It is easy to make several washcloth wizards by only changing the hair and hat, you can use the same wash cloth and put on a puppet show by changing out the wizards!
