Worms In The Dirt

All kids like to play in the dirt and most kids like to hunt for worms. How about feeding them worms and dirt. Sounds disgusting doesn’t it? Well that’s exactly what will make your child’s Halloween party a hit. They will love it and it’s so easy to do. Here’s how it’s done.

What You’ll Need

* 2 (3 oz) boxes chocolate instant pudding and pie filling
* 20 to 30 chocolate sandwich cookies
* Gummy Worms

Directions

Start by making the pudding as directed on the box. While the pudding is thickening you can crumble the cookies. Place 10 cookies at a time in a large freezer bag, being sure to close the bag tightly after each addition of cookies.

Using a rolling pin or a large smooth sided glass, roll over the cookies. You want to crumble the cookies not pulverize them. This way you have chunks of dirt in your pudding. It’s ok to have some cookie dust; this will be the dirt dust in the pudding.

Once the pudding has thickened slightly and you have made your dirt, pour 3/4 of the cookie crumbs into the pudding. Mix thoroughly to incorporate the crumbs completely through the pudding.

Using a sharp knife take most of the gummy worms and cut them in 1/4, 1/2 and 3/4 size. This will give the gummy worms that pulled apart affect. Fold them gently into the pudding. Make sure they are all through the pudding and all the way to bottom.

Before serving place a few whole worms on the top and sprinkle with the rest of the cookie crumbs.

There you have it - Worms in the Dirt. Your children will gag and yuck at the sight of it but before you know it they will have every last dirty worm gone.
